Come join us at the DevOps Enterprise Summit in San Francisco
Hello SAFe community!
Are you going to Gene Kim’s DevOps Enterprise Summit (DOES17), Nov. 13th – 15th? The event is sold out now but if you were lucky enough to snag a ticket it promises to deliver some great insights into the evolving technical and architectural practices and methods that define DevOps. I’ve been invited to present as one of the opening speakers on the first day of the summit. I’ll be discussing ‘Transformational Leadership and DevOps – Beyond the Research’ from 11:10 to 11:40 a.m.
We all know that some Agile and DevOps transformations succeed while others fail. This led me to conduct new research on transformational leadership and organizational change brought about by Agile and DevOps adoption. The good news is that anyone can learn to become a transformational leader! I’ll be sharing my experience in helping leaders at all levels grow their transformational leadership competency. This includes the key components of the program as well as the implementation strategy that began with the C-suite of the company leading the way.
Scaled Agile will also be hosting a booth (#308) at the summit, so please swing by if you get a chance.
Listen to the pre-summit podcast
Gene also hosts a series of DevOps Enterprise Summit Continuous Discussion podcasts. I participated in the podcast on ‘How leadership matters for your DevOps success’ and discussed how to engage key leadership, employ empathy, and overcome barriers to transformation. These podcasts may give you an idea of the quality of the topics being presented at the summit, so please watch the podcast if you get the chance.

I wanted to take this opportunity to call out the DevOps web page at http://www.scaledagile.com/devops. Here you’ll find a description of our CALMR approach to DevOps, a video discussion between Gene Kim and SAFe methodologist Richard Knaster at the 2017 SAFe Summit, and a guide to the relevant SAFe role-based curriculum. This page complements the DevOps article page we have on the Framework site.
Hope to see you in San Francisco.
Enjoy, and stay SAFe!
